Our Facility

Evolution Fitness is located within the Hadley's Design building, designed by Stephen Hadley and constructed by Artesion, which has become somewhat of a landmark in Jamesville, NY since it's construction in 2008. The building sits on a 11 acre corner that is used as an enhancement to many a workout during fair weather months.

A fully functional training facility, Evolution is equipped with 3 exercise studios, locker room & shower facilities and a comfortable lobby/waiting area. Unique design and construction make for a one of a kind facility to complete workouts.

Mike’s vision of providing unique, results driven programming and outstanding personal experience to individuals and groups has come to fruition with the inception of Evolution Fitness. Mike brings a vast experience of 20 plus years coaching clients throughout Central New York.  He has many current, long-term adult clients, as well as a seasonal stream of athletes from all sports and all age groups.  In fact, coaching young athletes as well as mature high level athletes has become a passion for Mike, and a niche for him in the business world. 

Having completed coursework at SUNY Brockport in Exercise Science, he is currently Certified by the National Strength & Conditioning Association, and a member of the International Youth Conditioning Association. 

Mike prides himself in client motivation, coaching proper mechanics, and programming workouts that deliver the best results over short and long-term training commitments.  “Helping a young person develop both mind and body through commitment to strength & conditioning, and watching the positive effect it has in most areas of their life is incredibly fulfilling.” A three-time drug-free national powerlifting champion, and Olympic Lifting bronze metalist at the Empire State games, Mike credits his experiences being coached for national level competition for his ability to effectively motivate and coach adults and young athletes alike to reach their fitness and performance goals.  

Tracey Fishkin

Certified Public Trainer

Tracey has been a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for 15 plus years, specializing in group or “bootcamp” instruction.  While at Boise State University, Tracey studied Sociology/Psychology and was a Division I full scholarship gymnast.  She is currently certified in personal training, group training and nutrition for adults and children through AFTA, as well as being CPR/AED & First Aid certified.

Tracey is also the JD/FM Varsity Gymnastics coach, having won 10 consecutive Section III titles in her 11 year tenure.

Eric Thompson

Certified Personal Trainer

Eric has been a professional in the Syracuse area since 1998.  With more than 18,000 hours of personal and group coaching behind him, he has helped a vast array of people pursue and reach their fitness, health related and performance goals. 

At Buffalo State University Eric studied in the Health/Wellness program where he became the undergraduate assistant to the Department Chairman and managed the Human Performance Lab on campus.  Certified as a Health Fitness instructor by the American College of Sports Medicine, he has worked with clients from age 5 to 92, including stay at home moms, retirees, competitive powerlifters and national martial arts competitors. 

Whether your goal is to lose weight, gain strength, run faster, move better, recover from an injury or you’re looking for something different from an exercise program, Eric has the experience and expertise to help you pursue goals safely, and effectively provide a life changing experience through fitness.

Kristin Abendroth

Certified Personal Trainer

Kristin Abendroth is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer, TRX Level 1 Qualified Instructor, and boot camp instructor. A former music teacher, She holds degrees from both the Crane School of Music and Ithaca College. Having spent most of her life as a non-athlete, Kristin competed in her first triathlon in 2010 and became a personal trainer in 2012. She currently teaches boot camp classes and offers private and group training sessions at Evolution Fitness in addition to actively competing in local road races and triathlons.

Errin Klein

TRX / Pilates Instructor

Errin received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics from Potsdam State University with a minor in Health Science and Business Economics.  She holds a Pilates Institute of America Pilates Matwork Level I and Level II  Certification as well as a Beginner and Intermediate Reformer  Certification.  She holds a fitness certification from the National Exercise Trainers Association, Schwinn Spinning Certification, Cycle Reebok Certification, Advanced Resist-a-ball Certification and TRX Group Training Certification.

She has experience instructing Pilates Matwork, Pilates Small Equipment, Pilates Reformer, Step, Muscle Works, Cycle Reebok,  Schwinn Spinning, aquatic aerobics, resistance training, Resist-A-Ball, low impact aerobics, kickboxing, circuit, BOSU, body bar, gliders and FitKids.

Hello Everyone

I would like to welcome anyone who may be reading this blog post to the Evolution Fitness website and blog within.  This blog will be used to post both print and video content pertaining to our facility, fitness, sports training and/or nutrition, or stuff that we simply want to share with you.  We feel it necessary to deliver, not only high quality coaching at our facility in Jamesville, NY, but information that can be used by our community and followers on their journeys into health, fitness, sport performance and other life activity.

It is our hope that future posts will make you think, at times laugh and stir up quality discussion on topics of interest.  In addition to this blog we will publicly communicate through Facebook and Twitter.  These mediums will  serve to frequently update everyone on happenings in our business, showcase practices (such as an important exercise) and highlight people that have had success in our programs.
